College Soccer News has named Green Bay men's soccer midfielder JC Banks (Milwaukee, Wis.) to its Preseason Second Team All-America.

After a historical 2009 season, the 2010 Green Bay men's soccer team is ranked in the first preseason poll released today by College Soccer News. The Phoenix is ranked No. 29 in the top 30 national poll which is led by 2009 College Cup runner-up, Akron.

Green Bay's Bollant Named WBCA DI Coach of the Year

Abe Clark will become 15th person ever to finish the coast-to-coast run.

No. 5 Green Bay (27-19) slips past No. 6 Butler (36-19), 3-2, in Game 6 of the 2010 Horizon League Softball Championship.  The Phoenix advance to play No. 4 Valparaiso in Game 8 at 4:30 p.m. ET. Butler is eliminated from the tournament after suffering its second loss.

In Game 8 of the 2010 Horizon League Softball Championship, No. 4 Valparaiso defeated No. 5 Green Bay, 1-0. The Crusaders advance to Game 9 where they will take on No. 2 Wright State.  Green Bay is eliminated from the tournament after suffering its second loss. 

In Game 1 of the 2010 Horizon League Softball Championship, No. 4 seed Valparaiso (33-19) claimed victory over No. 5 seed Green Bay (26-19), 4-0.  The Crusaders advance to Game 3 where they will meet No. 1 seed Cleveland State.  Green Bay moves on to Friday's Game 6, awaiting the loser of Game 4.

Green Bay senior Melani Niederer has been named the Horizon League Softball Batter of the Week, while Cleveland State senior Amanda Macenko has earned Pitcher of the Week honors for the week ending May 9.

The Horizon League officially announced its 2010 Softball Championship bracket today. The double-elimination tournament begins on Thursday, May 13 at 10 a.m. ET and concludes on Saturday, May 15 with the title game.  No. 1 seed Cleveland State will host the annual event, as games will be played at Viking Field.
