Here's To the Fans

Of the eight locations that served as NCAA Tournament First and Second Round sites, none are further away from Indianapolis than San Jose, CA. For many schools similar in size to Butler, being placed more than 2,000 miles away from you home city results in sparse attendance, and many school administrators acting as their team’s “fans.”

The Great Equalizer

During the regular season, the Butler Bulldogs shot 3-point field goals at a 34.5% clip. Surely, that’s a low number compared to some of Butler’s teams from the recent past. All things considered, however, 34.5% is a percentage almost smack-dab in the middle among all NCAA Division I basketball teams this year.

Behind Enemy Lines

Adam Coppinger · March 17, 2010

While trying to gather as much information on the Butler-UTEP matchup I turned to a man who knows a thing or two about the Miners. Bill Knight, a writer for the El Paso Times, kindly took some time out of his busy schedule to answer some questions about the Miners and Bulldogs.

It was a hotly-contested, drama-filled couple of days with the Vikings’ claiming their 2nd trip to the Big Dance in three seasons.

Shoot to Thrill

Continuing my theme of “firsts” during my first year with HLN, I’m enjoying my first Speedway Horizon League Women’s Basketball Championship experience.

Obviously, I’m in Green Bay at the Kress Center. I say obviously because Green Bay has been the top-seeded team in this tournament for ten of the last eleven years.
